We all love collagen but does collagen-based skincare and supplements in the market deliver what they claim they are for?

The answer is “NO”; they are just marketing myths!

Collagen is the protein of youth. It helps maintain skin firmness and keeps wrinkles at bay.

As we age, our body starts producing less collagen. We will also lose collagen due to exposure to UV light, smoking, excessive intake of sugar. The loss of collagen will make our skin thinner and more fragile, leading to fine lines and wrinkle formation, and this is when we start to look aged.

Collagen molecules are too big to penetrate the skin, so simply clapping them onto our face will not help stimulate new collagen production.

The efficacy of ingestible collagen supplements is also unproven. Collagen is broken down into amino acids in the gut. It has no different from eating any other protein, like an egg or a steak.

So what can we do to maintain or boost our collagen production?

Some high-quality bioactive ingredients derived from plants, such as Bahchi, Kakadu Plum, Finger lime caviar and hibiscus, can boost collagen production and protect collagen from external damages. Most importantly, as natural and clean skincare lovers, these ingredients can be found in nature.

Thank you, mother nature!
